Dave presented a fine array of prizes to the various winners as pictured. Joel Harold won the Captain’s Away Day trophy. Diane Perry won the ladies section. Guest Steve Coyle had a nightmare of a game finishing in last place after losing all his golf balls. After playing, the players settled down to a few drinks and to food which was described as being out of this world.
Eyton Cup was kindly sponsored by Sue & Ben Mitchell – The Seniors 9 hole Eyton Cup was played on Friday evening 5th June 2015. Ben Mitchell’s parents very kindly provided the Senior trophies. President Richard Bloss was the winner with 18 pts. Last year on the Saturday (18 hole competition) we were visited by the Greek God Thor, who sent thunder and lightning, crashing down upon us. This year, we were visited by Aeolus who, in Greek mythology, is the ruler (but not a God) of winds, and he brought us extremely blustery conditions. Joel Harold won the 18 hole mens competition, and the Eyton Cup, with a nett 62, beating both Cameron Meadows and Ian Lockhart on count-back. Joel also won Nearest the Pin and the Longest Drive. Well done Joel – a great day for you. Diane Perry won the ladies with nett 74. Steve Lanagan was the guest winner. Main results set out below. Big thanks go to Ben and Sue for their very generous sponsorship particularly the refreshments on the 10th tee. Once again the course was in top class condition. The pin placing and high winds made this a very challenging day but nevertheless produced some remarkable scores
