Cameron Meadows held his Junior Captain’s Day last Saturday assisted by his parents Tony and Jennifer Meadows. Once again Junior Captain’s day enjoyed glorious sunshine, which made the refreshments on the 10th tee very welcome indeed. The main event of the day, being the Junior Captain’s Cup, was won by Ieuan Wellstead. Well done, Ieuan – the first of many? Sean Harold took the mens prize with 41 points beating Peter Johnson on count-back. Jean Thompson once again took the ladies prize. At the presentation Cameron thanked everyone for playing and highlighted the superb condition of the course. He particularly thanked parents Tony and Jennifer Meadows for all their help and sponsorship for the day.

Our Junior Colts event last Saturday was instigated by our President Richard Bloss to create interest amongst potential junior golfers. 22 juniors took part. The event started with a safety talk. Then it was down to the driving range for basic tuition. Thanks go to Wayne, Sean and Joel Harold, and Junior Captain Cameron Meadows for organising this. It was then back on to the main course for some basic play over a few holes. Captain Dave Onslow, Vice Captain Ian Lockhart and Junior Organiser Tony Meadows were all on hand to help out.
