As one of the leading North Wales Caravan Parks, who also cater for Motorhome owners and those who wish to camp, we have long been advocates of family holidays in North Wales. After all, a holiday at one of the best luxury caravan sites in North Wales offers you the opportunity for a well-deserved break; where you can relax and pamper yourself with some of the finest facilities you have ever seen. On a holiday where you bring your own tent, caravan or motorhome, you also decide when you get up, what and where you eat, where you go and what you do – you are truly the master of your own destiny! At Plassey, we have many years of experience offering luxury caravan, motorhome and camping holidays to our visitors, so here is our guide to planning your luxury family stay in Wales:
Choose Your Abode Wisely
Finding your perfect caravan, motorhome or tent can be as exciting as finding your perfect house. You should take the time to make sure that the abode you choose is the right one for you and your family, as it will become your home away from home. It would be perfect if it could contain all of the comforts you are used to at home, whilst allowing you to enjoy the freedom of the open road, and the opportunity to escape from the toils and grind of everyday life. You don’t have to purchase one either, there are lots of places offering Caravan Hire in North Wales, with many different options to choose from – including motorhomes or caravans with awnings. A good idea might be to check out the website or magazine of a caravanning club, to familiarise yourself with what is on offer.
Location, Location, Location
When choosing your luxury holiday destination from the many North Wales Caravan Parks available, you should always keep location at the forefront of your mind. There is huge variation in the size of caravan sites and of the facilities they offer, so you need to pick the one that is most suited to your needs as a family. Plassey is set in over 247 acres of farmland, so you have access to stunning scenery, nature trails and cycle paths right on your doorstep. It is also only minutes away from some of the most breath-taking country parks in the whole of the UK. Furthermore, we offer a wide range of luxury facilities, from a heated indoor swimming pool and sauna room with a hair & beauty salon on site. For the younger members of your family, we have a Welsh castle themed adventure playground, as well as a games room, badminton and table tennis facilities. On-site there is also a retail village, a well-stocked mini market and off-licence so that you have everything you need to hand.
If you want to stray off site, there are plenty of things to do in the local area, such as braving the rapids at Water World, having a history lesson at Chirk Castle, or feeding the pigs at TyMawr Country Park. After all that, you can head back to Plassey and relax in one of our two on site restaurants or enjoy a refreshing beverage at our Treetops bar.
If you are new to caravanning, and choose a caravan rather than a motorhome or tent, then you might want to practice towing before you set off. The thought of towing another vehicle can be quite off-putting to some people, but really there is nothing to be afraid off! There is lots of advice available online on how to tow correctly, and the Camping and Caravanning Club of Great Britain even offers a Caravan and Motorhome Manoeuvring Course to give you tonnes of confidence about getting started.

Plassey, as one of the leading touring caravan parks North Wales, is delighted to announce that this year we are undertaking work on our touring pitches to ensure that we continue to offer our visitors the best caravan touring site experience in North Wales. But, what are touring pitches, what changes are we making, and what difference will this make to you?
Well, touring pitches are the spaces within our caravan park, where you can pull up your caravan, motorhome or tent and enjoy your holiday in North Wales. At the moment, we have a mix of standard and deluxe pitches which are a mixture of grass and hardstanding, and which each have their own specific amenities. Our standard pitches, for example, are a mix of grass and hardstanding and so are suitable for motorhomes, caravans and tents and all come with a 16amp electric hook-up. On the other hand, our deluxe pitches are all hard-standing, and come with 16amp electric, lighting, waste and water facilities, and full digital and Sky TV capabilities. However, the fact that they are hard-standing, does mean they are only suitable for caravans and motorhomes, and not for tents.
We have noticed in the past that there has been a problem for some of our visitors who have chosen the grass pitches, as the inevitable British weather has meant that they have got a bit wet and soggy – especially if they are in a tent! This is why we are excited to announce that this year we will be installing 15 large all weather gravel hardstanding’s on Spring Meadow – all with 16amp electric hook-up. This means that these pitches will be able to be used all season long, by both Motorhome and Caravan owners, whatever the weather throws at us!
We are also upgrading 24 of our Standard Pitches (from September onwards) to brand new Premier pitches. This means that they will each have their own multi-service bollards including 16amp electric hook up, water, waste water disposal, lighting and digital & satellite TV points. Our aim is to offer our visitor’s access to first-rate resources and the highest level of service. We believe these changes will have a positive impact on our visitors.
As one of the most highly regarded caravan touring sites in North Wales, who also cater for Motorhome owners and those who wish to camp, we strive to provide visitors with a site that offers all of the facilities you need wherever you are pitched, whilst giving you the space you need to enjoy the wonderful scenery and country air you came on holiday for. We have a wide range of facilities for you to enjoy including: a luxury heated indoor swimming pool, a nine-hole golf course, a Welsh castle themed adventure play park, a retail village and well-stocked fishing ponds. We are also ideally situated to explore the local attractions that bring many people to this area – such as historical sights and country parks, which all have a host of activities planned for this year as it is Wales’ ‘Year of Adventure’.
