We have never lived in such a technological age as the age we live in now. We spend a large amount of time per day on our smartphones, our tablets and various other devices, and although they are supposed to make our lives easier, quite a lot of the time they can actually make life more stressful. Because we are now contactable wherever we are and whatever we are doing, it can sometimes feel like we can’t get a break and have no time to ourselves.
This is one reason why caravan holidays in North Wales are increasing in popularity. They are a perfect way to take a break from the barrage of messages you get on a daily basis. Head to our haven in the middle of some beautiful countryside and enjoy a simpler break – with as little technology as you want. Now we know that taking a break from technology can be easier said than done sometimes, but it can be done. You may still want to be contactable by your family members that aren’t with you, but you want to be able to spend quality time with the people you are away with. So, we have rounded up some of our top tips on how to have as tech-free a holiday at Plassey as possible:
Switch Off Your Phone
Simple, when you know how! The majority of us are attached to our smartphones on a daily basis, and we can feel lost without them. The easiest way to have a tech-free break though is to switch it off – although it can be tempting to switch it on again quickly to check the messages. One way to overcome this temptation is to lock it away somewhere when you go out. Don’t take it with you and concentrate instead on having a fab family day out.
Leave Your Laptop at Home
We can understand that you may not want to leave your phone at home for the holiday, you may need it for emergencies for example, but you may feel more at ease living your tablet or laptop at home. If you have booked time off work, then don’t let yourself get distracted by checking work emails – leave it behind and focus on your family instead.
Walk Instead of Driving
A lot of us rely heavily on GPS systems now to help us with the daily commute, so why not ditch it when you’re on holiday? Grab your family, and start walking and see what you can find. Plassey, for example, is situated amongst two miles of nature trails, so it’s the perfect place for exploring the unknown and embracing the outdoors.
There are so many activities to take part in at Plassey and so many wonderful attractions in the local area that you really won’t miss your technology at all. So, if you fancy really getting away from it all, then why not book your break at Plassey today? You can call us on 01978 780 277 or send us an email to email@example.com for more information.
If you are an avid reader of our blog (and we hope you are!), then you will know that as one of the leading holiday parks in North Wales we have tonnes of activities and adventures for your family to get involved in all year round. So, if you are wondering what to do for the Autumn half term this year, then get in touch as at the time of writing this we still have availability for Fri 20th October – Thursday 26th October and Sunday 29th October to Thursday 2nd November.
Heading to North Wales over the half term period is a great idea, as it is the perfect time to explore the area. Away from the crowds and bustle of Summer, you can take in the autumn-coloured countryside or spend some time with the family at one of the many events taking place across the whole of Wales. Here is our round-up of some of the events taking place during half term.
Taking place from the 21st to the 22nd October in Cardiff, the SWN festival is a music festival that started back in 2007 by a pair of friends after an epic trip to South by Southwest in Texas. Focusing on new music, you won’t see any big names here, but you may just catch a star of the future. In fact, Rag and Bone Man, Marina and the Diamonds and The Vaccines have all played here early in their career. With some bonkers events such as the HUSH silent Disco and the Discovery Day where attendees literally run between venues around Cardiff with a wristband on, if you are a music lover then this is the event for you.
Wales Rally GB
If music is not your thing, and you are a car lover instead then you’re in luck. Taking place from the 26th to the 29th October is the Wales Rally GB. Rally driving is one of the most challenging motorsports on the planet with drivers enduring extreme conditions and unforgiving terrains in order to be crowned the World’s Best Driver. A thrilling sport to experience as a spectator too.
Gwledd Conwy Feast
If you are a food lover, then Wales is definitely the place to be at half term. From the 27th to the 29th October, there is a fantastic food festival being held in Conwy, that sees the town transformed into the largest festival of food, music and art in the whole of Wales. There is a music marquee, a feast quayside bar with local ale, gin and wine on sale and even a farming marquee. You can also take part in cooking academies – for both adults and children. The price of your ticket also includes half-price entry to Conwy Castle.
These are just some of the great activities taking place in North Wales this October Half Term, so don’t delay and book your break at Plassey today. We are one of the leading holiday parks in North Wales and are perfect for a romantic weekend break or a family get away.
