The Plassey Brewery
The Plassey Brewery was founded in October 1985 by the late Alan Beresford, who learned his craft whilst working for the renowned Border Breweries of Wrexham. From the outset, the aim of the brewery was to produce traditional country ales of the finest quality. The current manager, Ian Dale, has been involved in the brewery since 1989 although his expertise in the field stretches back much further.
In 1996, a new Brewery building was commissioned on the Plassey premises, a task undertaken by Ian and Tony Brookshaw, father of the current Park manager John. The modern facility included the brewery plant, complete with a visitors viewing gallery, and the Brewery's own shop. The new premises helped The Plassey Brewery consolidate their already considerable success in the field of connoisseur Ales, helping them to receive the accolade of Champion Beer of Wales for three successive years between 1995 and 1997.
Their range of beers includes the popular 'Plassey Bitter' and 'Royal Wrexham Lager', which is supplied to hotels and public houses across Wales and in Cheshire, plus 'Dragon's Breath' - an Award-winning strong bitter - and 'Fusilier' - available in casks and bottled, which was developed especially for the Royal Welsh Fusiliers as their Regimental Beer, and launched in 1998.
Why not visit the brewery and sample some of their superb Ales on your next visit to The Plassey?
