We know from experience that families love caravan holidays in North Wales – they can take place at any point during the year and can be quite cost effective. Plassey has great transport links and so is easily reachable from the whole of the UK, so it is the perfect place for getting away with the family for the weekend – but you may be worried about keeping your family entertained when you get here. Here are some ways you can entertain the family outdoors:
Everybody needs to eat so why not make it a focal point of the day by getting the whole family cooking outside? Grab a disposable BBQ and get adventurous. Get the kids involved by having them help you shop for and prepare the ingredients for a tasty meal. Our onsite mini mart has lots of local ingredients to choose from or perhaps you could cook some of the fish you caught in our ponds? After a fabulous day enjoying the fresh air together, there is nothing better than a fabulous home cooked meal.
There are lots of hills, mountains and forests nearby Plassey for you to explore at your leisure. On site, as well we have two miles of nature trails which include dog-friendly access gateways. Have some fun together in the morning getting together things for a picnic, and then enjoy your stroll outdoors amongst the local wildlife.
This classic activity can be fun for the whole family, but you will need a little bit of patience! At Plassey, we have five free of charge course fishing ponds located a ten-minute walk from the site. Fishing rods are available to hire, and we sell bait on site, but you will need a fishing licence (which is available from your local post office or online). Our ponds are stocked a mixture of Carp, Tench, Roach and Perch and are set in a tranquil setting which will help you to appreciate nature at its best.
If you have young kids with you, why not entertain them with a scavenger hunt around the site? Make a list of things that can be found on the site, such as pine cones, leaves and tree bark and then wonder around with them to find the things on your list. Or why not prepare something before you come by printing off some pictures and then asking them to locate the thing that matches the image?
Most people are curious about the night sky, whatever their age. A trip to Plassey Holiday Park is a great way to get them involved in the wonders of the cosmos. Ask your kids to draw the sky or write a story about the moon – they will love the opportunity to stay up late!
There are lots of other activities on site to keep the family entertained, such as the Welsh Castle themed adventure play park and an indoor heated swimming pool. To book your superb caravan holiday in North Wales, please call us on 01978 780 277 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
