Q. Do I need to book at pitch prior to arrival? Yes it is essential as we tend to become fully booked in advance for weekend stays, July & August and Bank Holiday periods. For other times (excluding Bank Holiday periods and July & August) there are usually spaces mid-week, but please still do call us to reserve a pitch.
Q. How do I book a pitch?We have two options:
Online Bookings – just simply click on the Online Bookings button, follow instructions by checking dates and availability, click, pay and booking is done.
Telephone Bookings – call us on 01978 780 277 – Reception is open to take bookings 9.00am – 8.00pm on Fridays & Saturdays, and 9.00am – 6.00pm all other days. If we are busy then please leave a message on the answerphone and we will call you back.
Q. How many people do you allow in a Caravan / Motorhome / Tent? We allow up to max. of 5 people per pitch, with one unit (caravan / motorhome / tent) per pitch. We do not allow more than one family to ‘share’ a pitch.
Q. What is the latest arrival time?6.00pm is the latest time to arrival for mid week (Sunday to Thursday), and is extended up to 8.00pm on Friday & Saturday.
Q. Do you have Arrival / Departure times for staying on the Park? Yes – at busy times (all Bank Holiday periods, July & August), all arrivals must be after 2.00pm, and departures before 12.00 noon. For other periods of stay we are much more flexible – please ask the Park staff for details.

Q. What is the difference between a Standard pitch and a Deluxe pitch?A Standard pitch has an 16amp electric hook point, and all have large gravel hardstandings. We have two locations for Standard – the Main Field (handy for being close to the main facilities including the toilets, showers and games rooms etc), and Spring Meadows (quieter area of the park, many with beautiful views across the Dee Valley).
A Deluxe pitch is a large hardstanding pitch with 16amp hook up, water tap, waste water disposal point, lighting, and Digital TV / Sky aerial plug-in point. The Deluxe pitches are located on Fairway View, and are close to the main Amenity building which has toilets, showers, chemical toilet and washing facilities.
Q. Do you have hardstanding pitches, and can I reserve one? Yes, all are large hardstanding, and are shown on our Park Map. All pitches are numbered so in most cases you can pre-allocate your preferred Deluxe or Standard hardstanding. To select a pitch of your choice, simply select the pitch on the Online Bookings map, or alternatively book by telephone.
Q. Do you take group bookings? We accept up a maximum of 3 families in a group booking, but we remind them of the strict 11.00pm late night noise policy which is enforced (see Park Rules).
Q. Do you have minimum night stay periods Bank Holidays and Peak times? Yes, during our very busy periods we have the following minimum night stays.
Please note these are generalised as certain days may have shorter / longer min. stays, depending on demand.
- Easter: 5 nights
- May Day: 3 nights
- Whit: 5 nights
- August Bank Holiday: 5 nights
- All weekends from May to September (excluding mid July to end August): 2 nights
- Late July to end August (excluding August Bank Holiday): variable from 2 to 3 nights – please call us with your dates on 01978 780 277
Q. Do you have static caravans or other holiday accommodation?We are sorry but we currently do not have static caravans for hire.
Q. What do I need to connect to the multi-service bollard on a Deluxe Pitch?A standard 20 metre caravan electric cable (with 16amp BS4343 round pin connectors), 4 metres of waste water pipe and 4 metres of ½ inch water pipe to connect to a tap (Hozelock fittings to screw onto the ½ inch water tap). For the Digital TV / Satellite connections, a TV Coax cable of approx. 6 metres would usually be enough, though it does depend on the location of your TV Coax point on the caravan / Motorhome. Please note that TV Coax cables are available for hire from Reception at 50p per night charge and £20 refundable deposit.
Q. Do you allow dogs on your park?Yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome. The charge is £3.10 per night per dog, and we have provided a large dog exercise area for them (see Park Map). Elsewhere, dogs must be on a short lead at all times due to farm livestock in the surrounding fields, and any accidents need to be cleaned up quickly (dog bins sited around Park). Please also note that pets must never be left unattended.
Q. Are children allowed in the ‘Treetops’ Bar / Golf Clubhouse? The Treetops Bar has a small children’s area, and the Golf Clubhouse welcomes accompanied children. Both establishments are extremely family friendly.
Q. Do you allow skateboards and motorised scooters to be used on the Park? No. Due to Health & Safety issues, we do not permit them on the Park. However we do allow foam footballs, scooters & bicycles, and there are plenty of other activities for children including an indoor heated Swimming Pool, Welsh Castle Adventure Playground, Table Tennis, Badminton, Pool Tables, Arcade Machines, Nature Trail Walks, Golf, Fishing, Cricket / Tennis / Baseball (all played with 100% foam sponge balls).
Q. When is the swimming pool open? The heated indoor pool is open all season (February – November), and is free of charge to all customers staying on the park. Opening are 9am – 4.30pm (5pm peak season & Saturdays) Adults Only Session 9am until 10am.
Please note that all persons under 16yrs of age swimming must be supervised by a responsible person of 18yrs of age or over at all times.
Q. You have fishing ponds on site – what do I need to know? Specially only for the customers staying at The Plassey, we have free of charge 5 Coarse fishing ponds. They are located approx. 10 minute walk from the caravan park (see Map), and are stocked with a mixture of Carp, Tench, Roach and Perch. Please note that anyone wanting to fish must have a current valid fishing licence, which can be purchased from most Post Offices or online.
Q. Do you have CCTV to cover the park?We have a state-of-the-art CCTV system that covers The Plassey, recording 24/7, and security barrier that is operational between 10.00pm and 8.00am on the caravan park. Staff can be contacted 24hrs a day, and we are here to assist & provide the high level of service for all our customers on our 5 Star graded park.
Q. Do you have fishing tackle for hire / fishing bait available on site? Sorry you will need to bring your own fishing tackle & bait.
Q. Do you have a Restaurant on the Park?We have a wide range of food outlets at The Plassey Holiday Park: from “edible luxury” in the unique and newly refurbished Shippon Restaurant, to light lunches & homemade teas available from the Stables Coffee Shop (open daily 10.30am – 5.00pm), to a full range of breakfast, lunches & bar meals in the Golf Clubhouse. Q. Do you offer storage for caravans / motorhomes?We do have a storage compound and from time to time have spaces – for details & prices then please call us on 01978 780 277. The storage compound is built with high security perimeter fencing, and key access is via staff during usual hours of 8.00am until 8.00pm.
Q. Who can use my Holiday Home apart from myself?Your family & friends can use the Holiday Home to enjoy all the benefits associated with ownership at “The Pines” (this is the name of the exclusive Holiday Home area at The Plassey). In addition you will be able to use the Swimming Pool for exclusive use at special designated times.
Q. What charges will we have to pay?The annual charges for 2018 are £4640 (inc. VAT). This covers the plot fee, water, sewerage, business rates, refuse, grounds maintenance, Digital TV & SKY+ (decoder required), and WiFi.
Insurance cover for 2018 varies, but on average it is £340 for 12 months, fully Comprehensive on a “New for Old” basis, and includes £2,000 worth of contents cover. Electricity & Gas are charged annually on a metered basis.
Q. What is our Security of Tenure?First time purchasers of a new holiday home are given a Licence Agreement which runs for not less than a guaranteed 12 years (10 years on a Front Plot), up to a maximum of 15 years from the date of first purchase. Where a used holiday home is purchased a Licence Agreement will be offered but with the term left from date of original first purchase.
Q. Are you open all year and can we live here?We open for nearly 11 months a year – from 10th February to 2nd January. Outside of this period you are not permitted to use or stay overnight in your holiday home. We will ask you to provide a named copy of your most recent council tax bill confirming your permanent residential address in the mainland UK – usage of the holiday home as a main residence is not permitted.
Q. Can we hire out our Holiday Home?In order to keep The Pines as an exclusive holiday home owners-only park, subletting or renting is not permitted. However your friends and your family are of course permitted to use the home at any time.
Q. Are pets allowed in our Holiday Home?Yes they are. We have a specific Dog Exercise area near to The Pines where they are permitted off-lead, plus with over 3 miles of Nature Trails over The Plassey parkland (on-lead along this area due to farm livestock).
Q. What days is the Craft & Retail Centre open? We are open 7 days a week*, generally from 10.30am until 5.00pm. As each unit is run as an independent business, the hours do vary slightly so please give us a call if you are interested in a particular item or service (see Directory page).
*Note that some shop/craft units are closed on a Monday (Open Bank Holiday Monday)
Q. Is admission and car parking free? Yes, and we also have ample car parking situated close to the shops, so it’s easy to visit and browse.
Q. Do you have suitable access for disabled and wheelchair users? Yes. Most* of the area is suitable, and we also have a toilet specifically for disabled / wheelchair users.
*Please note some access for the Craft & Retail units is slightly restricted due to the nature of the converted Edwardian buildings.
Q. I am interested in a particular product / service – how do I find out more information?If you visit the Directory page, you will find a list of the relevant telephone numbers to the independent businesses, so that you can find out further details. Also some of the businesses have their own websites – just click on the appropriate unit name to link to their website.
Q. Are Coaches welcome?We welcome coaches ut please call us on 01978 780 277 to inform us of your intended date of arrival. If visitors by coach are likely to use e.g. the Restaurant or Coffee Shop, the coach driver will need to pre-book with the particular establishment (see Directory page).

Q. Do you cater for Weddings and other Special Occasions? The Shippon Restaurant & Bar is available to host Wedding Receptions, Blessings, Private Dining with own bar and other Special Occasions, and also has facilities for Conferences – please call them on 01978 780 999 where they would be delighted to discuss further details with you.
Food & Drink
Q. Is the Restaurant family friendly? The Plassey Restaurant & Bar welcomes families throughout the day and early evening, last sitting for families with children under 12yrs is 7pm.
Q. Does the Plassey Restaurant & Bar allow dogs into the restaurant? Sorry we do not allow dogs in any of the areas within our restaurant due to our strict hygiene standards.
Q. What are the Plassey Restaurant & Bar opening times/days? Open from 10am to late, 7 days a week.
Q. Can we have a drink at the bar without ordering a meal? Yes. Customers are welcome to enjoy a drink from the bar or a hot drink without having to order a meal.
Q. What are the opening times for Stables Coffee Shop? Stables Coffee Shop is open 10.30am until 5.00pm, 7 days a week. Serving hot drinks, snacks, meals & cakes throughout the day.
Q. Is the Golf Clubhouse open to non members & families? Yes Haybank Clubhouse is extremely family friendly and is open to both members & non members, 7 days a week, 8am until late for both food & drink.
Q. Do I need a golf handicap to play Plassey Golf Club? Unlike some clubs you do NOT require a golf handicap to play at Plassey Golf Club and we actually encourage new beginners to the game of golf by offering lessons by our Golf Coach if required.
Q. Do I need to book a Tee Time to play at Plassey? If you wish you can book a Tee Time before hand by calling 01978 780020 but in general this is not necessary. However please be aware that club competitions do take place on most Saturday mornings and sometimes Sunday mornings so we suggest calling the clubhouse on 01978 780020 if you are planning to visit us at the weekend. Please take a look at our website and click ‘Fixtures and Competitions’ for more details.
Q. Is the clubhouse open to non members, and do you offer food and refreshments? Our clubhouse is open to non members and we cater for golfers and non golfers alike including families who find the environment very friendly and relaxing. We offer a fine selection of food and drinks from cooked breakfasts and snacks to full 3 course meals. All food is freshly prepared and cooked, and very competitively priced.
Q. Can I hire clubs and equipment or must I have my own? Visitors can hire clubs and balls for Academy Short Course but you will need to bring your own clubs for our main course. In addition trolley and buggy hire is also available.
Q. Do you have a Dress Code on the course?A dress code does apply on the main course, we ask that tailored trousers or shorts and collared shirt, no football / sports tops and sorry no blue denim jeans. Also for safety reasons we ask for golf shoes to also be worn on the main course. No dress code is required on the Academy Short Course, Driving Range or in the clubhouse.
Q. How do I become a member of Plassey Golf Club?Annual membership is available. Please contact our clubhouse on 01978 780020 for more details and to obtain an application form.
Q. Do you have a practise area at Plassey Golf Club? We have practise nets and a putting green, plus an 8 bay driving range. In addition we also have a Academy Short Course which is open between April and October which is ideal for beginners or those wishing to improve their short game.
Q. Can my children play golf at Plassey Golf Club? Junior golfers over the age of 8 year are welcome on the main course with an adult supervision if they are of a good standard to play 9 holes. Plassey Golf Club operates a Child Protection policy and this policy is displayed on the clubhouse notice board. There is no age restriction on the Academy Short Course as long as they are supervision by an adult / parent.
Q. Do you have a Golf Professional who offers lessons? Our Golf Coach is Lewis Harper who offers individual lessons, and regularly holds Roll Up Sessions & Beginners Lessons which are suitable for all age groups and abilities.
