Local area attractions

The Plassey Leisure Park is perfectly placed as a centre for visiting nearby places of interest such as the historic centres of Chester and Shrewsbury, with their rich and varied architecture, or smaller hamlet towns like Oswestry. The mountains of Snowdonia and the spectacular scenery of the Welsh Valleys are also on your doorstep.

If you prefer history, why not take time out to visit well-preserved Chirk Castle, with its immaculate gardens, one of many historic buildings within the vicinity. Powis Castle with its renowned collections and landscaped grounds is only a short distance away.

Wrexham has its own fantastic history, and vistors are welcome to join the Wrexham Heritage tour that are regularly organised.

Perhaps if you feel more adventurous, you could take a narrow boat trip along the Llangollen canal and cross the world-famous Pontcysyllte Viaduct.
