Local chefs will be providing cookery demonstrations throughout the weekend & local craftsman will also be showing us how they make their unique crafts. With lots of Festive Children's crafts & activities and the chance to meet Mr & Mrs Claus and their helpers in the Toy Workshop, this is one festive event not to miss!

2013 Park upgrades

New Touring Pitches :- Work will start in January in the installation of 26 gravel hardstandings on the Spring Meadow touring pitches. Each pitch will measure a very generous 100m2 - plenty of room for caravan / motorhome  / tent plus awings and cars, and have 16amp electric hook up point.
Golf Course :- To continue with the major improvements started in 2012 including improvements to the 3rd Fairway with removal of the ditches and enlarging the feature ponds to improve natural landcaping and playability.
Restaurant :- Brand new toilet facilities will be built - utilising quaility materials including granite, oak doors & tiling - and lit with energy efficient LED lighting. Also catering for families and couples, major changes to the menus will be brought in using locally sourced fresh ingredients and cooked by skilled chefs.


2012 Park Upgrades

New Reception :- Doubleing the size of the Reception area to provide improved customer service with our friendly staff for all new arrivals, more local information with large new displays and Information Point, disabled and wheelchair friendly access and modern energy efficient lighting throughout.
Security barrier :- Our new unobrustive arm-barrier system with automatic entry / exit, plus additional cameras will improve customer convenience and security on our 5 Star Quality Graded park.
Golf Course & Clubhouse :- The Plassey Golf Course & Clubhouse came under new management from 1st Feb 2012, with the Course itself under the direct management of Mr John Brookshaw (owner of The Plassey).
Installation of 2 bay Practice Nets (conveniently located near to the Clubhouse), and the main project of a new 5th Green was completed for the summer - this was over x3 larger than the original and built to high specifications including drainage, irrigatation and large bunker.


Feb 2013 - Top 100 Parks Awards - Best in Wales 2013 !
In February we were invited to Birmingham where Practical Caravan were hosting the annual Top 100 Parks Awards......and we were delighted to win Best Park in Wales 2013. This is the third year in a row we have won this award, so again we are thrilled at doing this.  :-)


Spring & Summer 2011 all of us at The Plassey were delighted to win FOUR major awards at various glittering award ceremonies. We proudly announce them as......

UK Best Family Park & Best in Wales 2011 (Practical Caravan awards)
The Plassey scooped these two awards at a ceremony hosted at The Hilton, NEC Birmingham for the National Caravan & Motorhome show in February 2011. Presented by the editor of Practical Caravan (UK's biggest selling caravan magazine), these awards are voted for by the customers themselves, and therefore reflect the many hundreds of votes that came in for us.
AA Campsite of the Year for Wales 2011
David Hancock, editor of the AA Caravan & Camping Guide said -

Best in Wales 2011 (Practical Motorhome awards)
The latest win to add to our brimming trophy cabinet was announced in July - Best in Wales for Motorhomes! Again these votes were cast by the most important inspectors that there are - you! Votes that came in praised "Outstanding landscaping and beautifully manicured gardens.........." "Excellent staff that are always welcoming & smiling.....made our stay fantastic........." "Pristine facilities, toilets, showers, and a fab. deluxe swimming pool!........."

Spring 2011 - New stock of fish
In March we took delivery of fish to re-stock our 5 ponds.....in total there were 200 Carp, 150 Tench and 200 F1's.
These fishing ponds are free of charge to customers staying on The Plassey, and together with the new fishing stages, will provide delight to all fishermen out there.

Spring 2011 - Something for all the family at our Craft & Retail Centre
We have introduced new exclusive craft & retails shops to The Plassey, also a Craft days workshop free to hire to promote Crafts and provide a Craft Workshop for visiting families - these compliment our wide range of quality shops that include Hair & Beauty Salon, Goldsmith, picture framers, designer Boutique & Accessory shops, garden centre, blacksmith, equestrian supplies, computer sales & repairs, and new photography studio.

Spring 2010 - David Bellamy Special Distinction Award winner!
Out of the blue we received a personal letter from David Bellamy to say :-
"I have decided that you are a well deserved recipient of a Special Distinction Award. Its great to see a park really embracing good neighbourliness in such a practical way with the range of tourism entreprises you have on your park, and the focus on local issues such as Welsh food.
Congratulations and many thanks for your dedication to the environmental cause!"

Our new Award will now be on proud display at the Park, and we will continue with more "green projects" to make The Plassey even better for all the future generations that visit us.

Autumn 2009 - Seasonal Pitches
Our long term project of Seasonal Pitch upgrades has now been completed -  all car parking areas are fully tarmaced, plus adding the finishing touches to the landscaping & low level lighting.

Spring 2009 - Luxury Holiday Homes
We are pleased to announce the opening the new luxury holiday home development on at The Plassey, called The Pines. Currently on show we have several holiday homes that are available for viewing with fully fitted kitchens, choice of 2 or 3 bedrooms (with ensuite bathrooms), fully centrally heated & double glazed,and with full services including gas, electric, water, WiFi and Digital TV & Sky+.Careful design on the pitches allows many of the holiday homes to offer breathtaking views over the Golf Course & surrounding countryside, and with the added benefits of security access and individual car parking, this will be the ultimate in holiday home living.

Spring 2009 - Deluxe Touring Pitches
Improvements to the Deluxe Touring Pitches included larger pitches, fully tarmaced roadways, car parking, and Digital TV & Sky on each hook up point (simply bring your de-coder from home, plug in and watch). The Plassey can now proudly show that these touring pitches are amongst the very best in the UK........and if Carlsberg made touring pitches "Probably the Best Touring Pitches in the World!"...... :-)

Summer 2008 - Awards
More great news was announced in July edition of Caravan and MotorCaravan magazines: - we are delighted to scoop the top prize in the magazine's annual 101 Top Sites award : Winner Best Park in UK 2008  

The award was decided by firstly the number of votes given by the magazine's readership, then the shortlist of 5 parks are subjected to an un-announced thorough assessment was undertaken by the magazine's inspectors.

In their report, Mr & Mrs Stansfield said The Plassey Leisure Park is "outstanding, self-contained, top quality leisure park where you get what you pay for. Well designed and landscaped, there's an excellent level of facilities and equipment for visitors to enjoy. With its warm welcome and immaculate facilities, this site exudes quality".

Owners John & Sarah Brookshaw said on receiving this award "We are thrilled at winning this major award, and would like to thank the readers of Caravan and MotorCaravan magazines whom voted for our park, our dedicated team of staff whom do a fantastic job in looking after our customers and park's facilities, and we look forward to welcoming both regulars and new customers to our park in the near future."
